Real Wood & Premium Components — Built for Florida
"I'm going to spend the extra money giving them real wood drawer boxes because they're going to last forever. That's like putting quality tires on your car instead of wagon wheels."
— James Dean Sisto, Founder

Why Materials Matter More in Florida
Worth saying directly: Florida is harder on interior materials than most climates. The humidity cycle — wet season, dry season, air-conditioned interiors vs. outdoor humidity — causes expansion and contraction in materials. What tolerates this cycle without degrading is different from what tolerates a controlled northern home environment. Particle board fails this test eventually. Real wood drawer boxes pass it. TFL panels pass it. Standard laminate-over-particle-board does less well. Two-millimeter edge banding passes it. One-millimeter starts to fail at edges where moisture can infiltrate. These aren’t theoretical distinctions. We’ve been in Treasure Coast homes for 25 years. We’ve seen what holds up and what doesn’t. Our material choices come from that experience.
What We Don’t Compromise On
Some things we adjust based on project scope and customer preference — finish options, hardware styles, configuration choices. Some things we don’t adjust. Real wood drawer boxes: standard. Every project. Thermally fused laminate panels: standard. Two-millimeter edge banding: standard. Soft-close hardware: standard. These aren’t premium options. They’re what every Able Closets project is built from.
We come to your home. Stephen takes precise measurements, talks through your vision and storage needs, and we put together a 3D rendering so you can see the end result before anything gets built.
